WHYY: Good Neighbor Club

Brand Identity & Promotional Materials

WHYY, Philadelphia’s leading public media organization, sought to develop a new children’s program centered on empathy and community awareness. Good Neighbor Club is designed to teach children how to observe their surroundings, value diverse perspectives, and take small actions that make a world of difference.

The objective was to capture the "warm-and-fuzzy" nostalgia of 1970s educational television while creating something fresh for the new generations. In this early phase of production, the Good Neighbor Club team needed to elevate their initial concepts and create eye-catching stickers to distribute to current and potential partners to garner hype.

Nostalgic typography: Develop a custom typeface that mirrors the soft, approachable lettering of mid-century children's programming.

Vintage aesthetic: Apply retro-inspired styling to create a sense to channel the “feel-good” era of children’s television.

Creative elevation: Redefine the client’s preliminary concepts from loose ideas to a cohesive, high-fidelity visual system ready for promotional material and digital platforms.
